cosa sarebbe? so che è una modifica di linux pero cosa fa in piu?

da quanto ne ho capito ha un sistema di sicurezza molto più avanzato.

È una distribuzione di linux basata su debian (tipo ubuntu). Non si installa su pc (o almeno non è stata creata per questo), si usa come live cd.
Contiene i vari strumenti di hacking/cracking per bypassare reti, defacciare, reversare, ecc...

Effettivamente senza la traduzione si capisce poco xD
Anche perché è quello che c'è scritto nella home del sito ufficiale: "benvenuti su backtracklinux.com ...."

mi sembra più un SO lameresco che da hacker... cioè invoglia i bimbi stupidi a usare programmi per far danni e prendersi denunce

bisogna sempre vedere che persona lo usa e poi i bambini (la maggiorparte dei lamer) usano windows $vista dicendo che è il miglior sistema operativo, quindi non penso che si buttino su un sistema linux.

essendo live, cioè senza installazione, lo useranno/proveranno in tanti.

Non è un sistema per tutti, anzi per chi non capisce molto di informatica è da evitare.

non è che ci vuole un arca di scienza per leggere 2 manuali ed avviare un cd rom mica se li deve creare lui i programmi, mi sa che è tutto preinstallato nel sistema operativo

Si è tutto preinstallato, ma fidati che anche un exploit non è facile da utilizzare se non si hanno le conoscenze adatte.
